The department of Management Studies at Karnatak Arts College, Dharwad was established in the year 1997. Considering the increasing demand for well trained candidates in business administration, Company Secretaryship and Management, the Bachelor of Business Administration Course and B.Com. (CS) course were established in the year 1997 and 1998 respectively. Bachelor of Corporate Secretaryship course is very ambitious and highly enterprising course. These two courses are handled by teachers with distinguishing academic qualification.
Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA)
Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) is a 3 years Graduation Course having 6 semesters. The course teaches the students about the higher level concepts in the domain of Business Administration in multi-fold specializations as Marketing, HRM, and Finance and so on. The degree is designed such way to give a broad knowledge of the functional aspects of a company and their interconnection. BBA program thus, exposes students to a variety of “core subjects” and generally allow students to specialize in a specific academic area. The degree also develops the student’s practical, managerial and communication skills, and business decision-making capability. Many programs incorporate training and practical experience in the form of case projects, presentations, internships, industrial visits, and interaction with experts from the industry. It also provides the right foundation to those who aim to take up specializations in post graduate management studies. It offers wide range of opportunities to the students to excel in their areas of interest and acquire the skills required to be the future managers.
Bachelor of Corporate Secretaryship (B.Com (CS))
This program is designed so as to enable the students to assist expert organization in the area of Costing, accounting, company law and business finance. It also intends to qualify the students to pursue careers such as company secretary, chartered accountant, cost and work accountant, certified financial analyst, etc.
Business and industry needs relating to management, accountancy, costing, finance, and company secretaryship. These needs are today fulfilled by MBA, CA, ICWA, CFA, and CS respectively, which are professional courses. Today, it is necessary to meet the needs of business by improving the turnout of professionals as well as providing new set of professionals where they will assist on the business on a day today basis in the above areas.
EVENTS AT THE COLLEGE
In order to enable students to acquire Leadership skills, Event Management skills, Communication skills, and Creative skills, we conduct Intra-Management Fest, Inter-Collegiate Management Fest and many campus activities such as Sports, Cultural, and Academic activities.
